GoGoX, an intra-city logistics company, is embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize its operational processes. From order reception to route planning and driver allocation, the integration of AI aims to enhance efficiencies throughout the platform’s delivery ecosystem.
According to Young Tae Do, GoGoX’s chief technology officer, the incorporation of AI stands out as a key aspect of the company’s digital transformation. They have developed three primary AI-driven solutions to reshape how driver-partners and customers engage with the GoGoX platform.
One of the initial AI applications is the Order Assignment (OA) feature, which autonomously assigns drivers their pickup and delivery tasks, eliminating the need for human intervention. Leveraging available data, the system customizes assignments for drivers based on factors such as job specifications, routes, and past customer interactions.
Unlike the previous approach where drivers could select orders at their discretion, the OA calculates the most efficient routes in real-time, considering variables like traffic conditions and feedback from prior customer engagements. It also matches specific delivery items with suitable driver-partners, particularly those with a track record of handling sensitive or valuable items.
The OA feature has recently been introduced in Hong Kong and is undergoing refinements for future deployment in additional markets, noted Young.
GoGoX operates as an on-demand delivery platform across Asia, specializing in freight and goods transportation within and between cities. By directly connecting individual customers and businesses with driver-partners and couriers, the company serves 360 cities and boasts a fleet of over 6 million registered drivers spanning regions like Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, and India.
The company has strategically planned for last-mile delivery optimization by leveraging technologies such as cloud computing, AI, machine learning, and analytics to enhance speed and efficiency, ultimately elevating customer satisfaction.
The decision to embark on the AI journey was driven by GoGoX’s extensive data accumulated over a decade of operations. This wealth of data provides a significant advantage for training and fine-tuning AI models, enabling personalized experiences that benefit both driver-partners and customers, as emphasized by Young.
