Dell Technologies has unveiled two innovative components for its all-flash storage portfolio, namely the Dell PowerScale F210 and F710. These additions aim to offer customers advanced high-performance file storage systems capable of efficiently managing compute-intensive workloads. The PowerScale series, equipped with the cutting-edge OneFS software, incorporates federal-grade security features and multi-cloud agility, creating an improved AI-ready data platform.
Broadcom’s CIO, Alan Davidson, expressed satisfaction with the new releases, noting that the Dell PowerScale F710 exceeded expectations by delivering over 25% performance improvements in EDA workloads while enhancing data center sustainability.
Chris Mount, Director of Program Management, highlighted that the PowerScale F210 and F710 nodes represent Dell’s vision for accelerated AI integration in infrastructure. These nodes, leveraging the latest OneFS software and high-quality PowerEdge servers, offer unmatched performance and scalability, addressing the heavy data loads generated by next-gen applications and workloads.
The F210 and F710 models build on PowerScale’s reputation as a leader in the Magic Quadrant for eight consecutive years. The F210 is designed for high performance with small capacity requirements, while the F710 achieves a balanced high-performance and substantial capacity in a 1RU setting.
Dell Technologies has also prioritized energy efficiency, introducing a Smart Flow chassis in the new platform to enhance power usage efficiency. With continuous innovation, Dell can now deliver up to 90% greater performance per watt within a year. The F710 model, with a 25% increase in node density from its precursor, accommodates up to ten drives in a 1U configuration, while the F210 doubles the capacity compared to the F200 through the introduction of a 15TB QLC drive.
These enhancements position PowerScale nodes to drive the adoption of AI innovations among customers. With features like non-disruptive scaling, multi-tenant capabilities, universal data access, and seamless interoperability with public clouds, the F210 and F710 nodes are well-equipped to handle demanding file workloads, including AI and generative AI.
Dell Technologies showcases its commitment to making AI accessible across diverse domains through its broad GenAI infrastructure portfolio. This comprehensive approach, spanning cloud services to client devices, reinforces Dell’s dedication to empowering customers on their AI journey.
