The Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), Smart Nation Group (SNG), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), and Google Cloud have jointly announced initiatives to accelerate AI adoption, foster an AI startup ecosystem, and develop an AI talent pipeline. These efforts align with Singapore’s second National AI Strategy (NAIS 2.0). The AI Trailblazers initiative, concluded at the ExploreAI summit, addressed over 100 generative AI (gen AI) use cases from 84 organizations. Notable participants, including the People’s Association, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Nanyang Polytechnic, successfully built gen AI solutions. The next phase, AI Trailblazers 2.0, aims to assist 150 organizations in developing gen AI solutions through enhanced Innovation Sandboxes and support from Google Cloud engineers.
In the first phase of the AI Trailblazers initiative, organizations accessed Singapore’s Gen AI Innovation Sandboxes, using Google Cloud’s AI stack to develop solutions. The success led to the announcement of AI Trailblazers 2.0, which offers an expanded initiative with enhanced Innovation Sandboxes. Organizations will receive support from Google Cloud engineers, free access to the AI stack for up to 10 weeks, and the opportunity to utilize Google’s latest model, Gemini, and Duet AI for Developers, an always-on AI collaborator.
The AI Trailblazers initiative has showcased the effectiveness of collaboration between government entities, industry, and technology providers in advancing AI capabilities. With AI Trailblazers 2.0, Singapore aims to build on this success, facilitating the rapid development of gen AI solutions to address real-world challenges across various sectors. The expanded initiative reinforces Singapore’s commitment to becoming a leader in AI innovation and adoption.
