In a strategic collaboration, Google Cloud and Hong Kong-based travel platform Klook have joined forces to elevate customer engagement and content on Klook’s platform using Google Cloud’s generative artificial intelligence (AI). The partnership kicks off with an emphasis on automated translation into ten languages, encompassing both local-market intricacies and Klook’s distinct brand voice.
The initial phase involved a successful pilot program where Klook leveraged Google Cloud’s PaLM 2 large language model via the Vertex AI Model Garden. This was employed to translate existing descriptions and tips about merchants’ services into Simplified Chinese and Korean. The results from the pilot demonstrated remarkable accuracy in translation and an adept capturing of local-market nuances in tone and voice.
The collaboration didn’t stop at machine-driven translations; Klook took a proactive approach to enhance the accuracy and local relevance of the content. By training Google Cloud’s generative AI on previously translated activity content, Klook achieved an improved level of accuracy, nuanced representation, and operational efficiency with each iteration.
Encouraged by the success of the pilot, Klook has decided to expand this AI-driven approach across all activity-related content. The objective is to leverage Google Cloud’s generative AI not only to maintain content quality and accuracy but also to foster innovation for a more engaging platform. By doing so, Klook aims to solidify its position as the preferred brand for travelers, offering an enriched and personalized experience.
This collaboration signifies the commitment of both companies to harness advanced AI capabilities to enhance the digital experience for users, showcasing the potential of technology in transforming customer engagement in the travel industry.
