NEC Malaysia has announced a change in leadership, appointing Wataru Irie, a seasoned technology leader, as its new Managing Director.

Irie brings a wealth of experience to the role, having spent over 20 years at NEC. He commenced his career with NEC in Japan, where he focused on enhancing banking systems for more than ten years. Subsequently, his international assignments took him to various markets, including Russia, Europe, and the Middle East, where he made significant contributions.

After his international stint, Irie returned to Japan and played a pivotal role in shaping NEC’s global strategy. His strategic insights led him to assume the position of Deputy Managing Director at NEC Malaysia in 2021, where he immediately began implementing innovative strategies to drive business growth.

In his new capacity as Managing Director, Irie will lead NEC Malaysia’s operations and spearhead efforts to further expand the company’s presence in the Malaysian market. NEC Malaysia expresses confidence in Irie’s leadership, expecting him to propel the company to greater success.
