Delinea, the innovative security firm, has recently acquired Authomize, a prominent player in cloud-based identity threat detection and eradication. This strategic merger is aimed at enhancing Delinea’s Privileged Access Management (PAM) SaaS solutions by integrating Authomize’s advanced capabilities in continuous online threat discovery and elimination.
Delinea, known for its secure solutions in extended PAM, plans to leverage Authomize’s expertise in threat detection to strengthen its cloud-based PAM offerings. By combining Authomize’s effective detection and elimination capabilities with Delinea’s leading PAM solutions, the objective is to fortify privileged controls within the cloud environment, specifically targeting identity-based attacks like account takeovers and insider threats.
The move is prompted by a concerning study from Osterman Research, revealing that 80% of companies operate across multiple clouds, increasing the risk of breaches due to a lack of visibility into access protocols across these platforms. Additionally, 76% of surveyed businesses admit to lacking complete visibility into access policies and applications, making them more vulnerable to threats. Delinea aims to address these challenges by integrating Authomize’s continuous detection and visibility capabilities into its PAM SaaS solutions, enhancing comprehensive privileged controls to guard against identity-based attacks.
Art Gilliland, CEO at Delinea, emphasized the combined ability of Delinea and Authomize to detect and mitigate active identity threats across various environments. He expressed excitement about the integration, stating that it will significantly expand the reach of the Delinea Platform in assisting organizations of all sizes in reducing identity-related risks.
Authomize’s Continuous Identity and Entity Monitoring (CIEM) monitors access privileges, usage changes, and connections between cloud services, SaaS applications, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, extending least privilege controls into the cloud. The integration of Authomize’s ITDR (Identity Threat Detection and Response) will enhance protection against threats by identifying abusive patterns and responding to attacks.
Phil Calvin, Chief Product Officer at Delinea, sees this as a milestone in amplifying the identification and mitigation of identity-based risks. He highlighted how the combined technologies will leverage continuous monitoring to deliver broad privilege controls within a consolidated cloud-native platform, ensuring awareness and response to protect identities and data.
Dotan Bar Noy, CEO of Authomize, expressed optimism about the integration and the expansion of Delinea’s presence in the region through the Israeli R&D center. Authomize CTO Gal Diskin also looks forward to addressing rising identity threats across the industry through this collaboration.
