BlackLine, Inc. has recently appointed Jeremy Ung to serve as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this capacity, Ung will play a pivotal role in steering the technological trajectory of BlackLine’s cloud platform, as the company seeks to meet the growing global demand for automation, efficiency, and risk management solutions within the finance sector. Reporting directly to Founder and Co-CEO Therese Tucker, Ung officially assumed his role as CTO on April 15, 2024.

Tucker expressed considerable confidence in Ung’s abilities, highlighting his extensive technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and leadership acumen cultivated over years of experience across various organizations. She emphasized Ung’s proficiency in navigating the complexities of cloud infrastructure and his shared dedication to customer satisfaction and product innovation. Tucker remarked, “Jeremy possesses the vision, strategy, and leadership essential for steering cutting-edge technology organizations. With over twenty years of software engineering experience, Ung brings invaluable insight to his new role at BlackLine. His career journey encompasses successful roles in development, product management, and engineering management. Before joining BlackLine, he served as the CTO at Apptio, a technology financial management software company leveraging AI, where he oversaw Engineering, Operations, and Global Support teams. Prior to this, he held significant leadership positions at Amazon Web Services and held senior programming and software management roles at Microsoft and MDA, a geo-intelligence pioneer.

Reflecting on his appointment, Ung underscored BlackLine’s track record of delivering industry-standard software solutions that address the multifaceted challenges confronting CFOs.
