Singapore’s National Quantum-Safe Network Plus (NQSN+) Advances with SPTel and SpeQtral Partnership

The Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) is pushing forward with the development of the National Quantum-Safe Network Plus (NQSN+) in collaboration with SPTel, ST Engineering, and SP Group’s joint venture, alongside quantum communication specialist SpeQtral. This initiative aims to establish an interoperable network bolstered by quantum encryption capabilities, offering a new level of security for critical government and commercial applications.

NQSN+ leverages quantum cryptography, a cutting-edge technology that ensures the secure transmission of sensitive information. The implementation of quantum encryption enhances the network’s resilience against cryptographic attacks, providing unprecedented levels of security for data protection.

The joint venture between SPTel, ST Engineering, and SP Group, along with SpeQtral, follows the success of their quantum-secure network trials conducted in 2022. These trials, conducted on SPTel’s diverse fibre network, laid the foundation for the NQSN+ project.
