ServiceNow has announced its acquisition of Czech Republic-based task mining company UltimateSuite, offering the company a new method to capture and comprehend the flow of work within a business. While the financial details were not disclosed, UltimateSuite, a three-year-old startup, had raised approximately $839,000.
Task mining, a component of the growing global process mining market, aids companies in understanding workflow dynamics, identifying bottlenecks, and enhancing efficiency. ServiceNow’s Eduardo Chiocconi, VP and GM for process mining, emphasized that UltimateSuite’s task mining capabilities enable a more granular inspection of individual user tasks, enhancing the ability to build efficient business processes.
Before acquiring UltimateSuite, ServiceNow could explore workflows but lacked insight into individual user tasks. The addition of UltimateSuite’s task mining capabilities aims to provide a comprehensive view for more effective business process management.
The plan is to integrate UltimateSuite’s functionality into ServiceNow’s existing process mining capabilities, ensuring a unified platform for users. This strategic acquisition aligns with ServiceNow’s past approach of incorporating acquired capabilities into its unified platform rather than offering them as separate products. This move signifies ServiceNow’s commitment to delivering enhanced value to customers through the integration of UltimateSuite’s capabilities.
This acquisition marks ServiceNow’s third in recent years related to AI and automation. Earlier in the year, the company acquired G2K, an AI-powered workflow tool, and in late 2020, it acquired Element AI, a Canadian startup. These strategic moves highlight ServiceNow’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its capabilities in AI and automation, aligning with the evolving needs of the digital enterprise landscape.
