Viettel, a leading telecom operator in Vietnam, has unveiled a state-of-the-art 30 MW data center situated in the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park in Hanoi, Vietnam.
With a vast expanse spanning 21,000 square meters, the data center boasts over 2,400 racks, catering to the escalating demands for AI services in the region. It stands as the largest of its kind in the country, underscoring Viettel’s commitment to technological advancement.
Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel, affirmed the company’s dedication to further investment and expansion, aiming to amplify its capacity to accommodate 17,000 racks. Looking ahead to 2030, Viettel plans to scale up significantly, reaching a capacity of 34,000 racks.
In line with its growth strategy, Viettel intends to construct at least three additional data centers within the next two years. Currently, the company offers a combined capacity of 11,500 racks and a power supply exceeding 87 MW.
Viettel’s array of services extends beyond mere infrastructure, encompassing colocation and cloud services provided through five strategically located data centers across Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Notably, the newly inaugurated data center has garnered several green certifications, including recognition for energy management, environmental impact management, and labor hygiene. Moreover, it distinguishes itself as Vietnam’s inaugural data center committed to sourcing 30 percent of its electricity from renewable energy sources, aligning with sustainability goals.
