Thales is strengthening its Avionics industrial base in Singapore by establishing a Centre of Excellence focused on industrializing new avionics products and Smart Factory transformation initiatives. In collaboration with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), these initiatives aim to reinforce Thales’ position as a leading and sustainable technology company in Asia. The Avionics Asia-Pacific Industrial Centre (AAIC) at Changi North Rise will house the future Avionics Centre of Excellence, addressing evolving industrial needs and supporting the rebound in air travel. The scope includes the industrialization of new flight avionics products and Smart Factory 4.0 initiatives for enhanced competitiveness and sustainability.
In addition to avionics, Thales is expanding its Digital Identity & Security Engineering Competence Centre (DIS ECC) footprint in Singapore. The DIS ECC is already engaged in advanced research, product development, and project delivery in areas such as banking, telecommunications, identity biometrics, and innovative technologies. Thales plans to further invest in the ECC’s engineering capabilities, focusing on Cybersecurity, Hardware, and Embedded Software. Additionally, a transversal Centre of Excellence for Eco-Design and AI-assisted Technologies will be established in Singapore, aiming to apply eco-design practices to all of Thales’ future products and services.
Thales’ commitment to Singapore spans over 50 years, and these initiatives underscore its dedication to supporting the country’s digital technology growth. The move aligns with the transformation of the aerospace sector through the use of biometrics, advanced AI, and cloud-based connectivity. Thales aims to play a pivotal role in technological innovation with a strong focus on sustainability by integrating eco-design practices in the development of new products and services.
