Singtel has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with industry giants Cisco, Fortinet, and Nokia to deliver quantum security solutions via its Quantum Safe Network (QSN). Through this collaboration, businesses can leverage Cisco’s routing platform, Fortinet’s firewalls, and Nokia’s optical devices to defend against sophisticated cyber threats.
These cutting-edge solutions utilize quantum key distribution from Singtel’s QSN and can seamlessly integrate into existing network and security frameworks of enterprises.
Cisco ASEAN President Tay Bee Kheng emphasized the importance of secure connectivity in today’s digitalization efforts, stressing the need for businesses to adopt the latest secure connectivity technologies to outpace malicious actors.
Fortinet’s Vishak Raman highlighted the evolving threat landscape posed by quantum computing, underlining the significance of advanced firewall technology in fortifying networks against both present and future threats.
Nokia’s Vice President of Optical Networks, Asia Pacific Business Centre, Vito Di Maria expressed enthusiasm about the strategic collaboration with Singtel, focusing on the development of quantum-safe solutions for enterprises to shape the future of secure connectivity.
Last year, Singtel was commissioned by the Infocomm Media Development Authority to establish Singapore’s first nationwide QSN by mid-2024 in partnership with ID Quantitique, aiming to enhance Singapore’s resilience against quantum threats.
Lim Seng Kong, Singtel Singapore’s managing director of enterprise, stressed the importance of collaboration between telecommunications, IT, and technology leaders in building a nationwide QSN. He emphasized the significance of bringing together global leaders to enhance the ecosystem of quantum-safe solutions, enabling enterprises to optimize investments, tackle complex challenges, innovate, and scale effectively. Lim also highlighted the need for continuous updates to security measures in response to the evolving cyber threat landscape.
