Udemy (Nasdaq: UDMY) and ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) have announced a groundbreaking partnership where over 75 of Udemy’s “power skills” courses will be integrated into ServiceNow’s Now Learning platform. This collaboration aims to enhance the RiseUp with ServiceNow initiative, focusing on skilling one million people on the Now Platform. The integration will provide a comprehensive training program by combining in-demand soft skills, such as communication and collaboration, with traditional technical competencies.
This strategic move comes at a pivotal time for organizations facing the impact of emerging technologies on jobs. A recent study by ServiceNow revealed that 23.5 million U.S. jobs could be affected by technological advancements, emphasizing the growing importance of power skills alongside technical expertise. As a response to this shift, 98% of executives are planning to transition to skills-based talent management practices, prioritizing skills validation over degrees to create a more diverse and dynamic workforce.
With Udemy’s “power skills” courses integrated into Now Learning, ServiceNow will expand its course catalog to cover a wide range of skills, including artificial intelligence, design thinking, project management, and conflict resolution. This move aligns with ServiceNow’s commitment to whole-person competencies, combining technical knowledge with essential power skills. These new courses also align with ServiceNow’s Career Journeys, providing learning paths for key roles in the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Stephanie Stapleton Sudbury, President of Udemy Business, highlighted the transformative changes in the workplace, emphasizing the importance of skills-based organizations, generative AI, and a dispersed global workforce. The expanded collaboration with ServiceNow aims to empower organizations and professionals to reach their full potential amid these changes.
Amy Regan Morehouse, Senior Vice President of Global Education at ServiceNow, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the unique approach of RiseUp with ServiceNow in focusing on whole-person competencies combined with technical knowledge. The collaboration with Udemy is expected to bring much-needed power skills to a broader audience, aiding learners in future-proofing their careers.
In addition to power skills courses, Now Learning will feature three new generative AI courses from Udemy, preparing learners for the AI-related jobs of the future. These courses include “Artificial Intelligence with Machine Learning and Deep Learning,” “ChatGPT/AI Ethics: Ethical Intelligence in an AI World,” and “Intro to Chat GPT and Generative AI.”
ServiceNow, with a vast customer base of over 8,100 enterprise customers worldwide, including approximately 85% of the Fortune 500, has been a longstanding Udemy Business customer. The platform has seen significant enrollments and growth in ServiceNow content on the Udemy platform, further solidifying the partnership.
