Motorola Solutions, listed on NYSE as MSI, has successfully acquired IPVideo, the developer of the HALO Smart Sensor, an intelligent sensor designed for real-time detection of health and safety threats. IPVideo is headquartered in Bay Shore, New York.
The HALO Smart Sensor is a versatile safety and security device equipped with features such as vape detection, air quality monitoring, gunshot detection, abnormal noise and motion detection, and emergency keyword detection. Particularly useful in areas where traditional video solutions are not suitable, such as restrooms, classrooms, hospital rooms, and hotel rooms, the HALO Smart Sensor enhances situational awareness and extends security perimeters while respecting privacy.
Mahesh Saptharishi, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Motorola Solutions, emphasized that HALO complements their end-to-end physical security offerings by integrating a non-video threat detection product into their safety and security ecosystem. The acquisition reflects Motorola Solutions’ commitment to enhancing safety and security with a cost-effective sensor suitable for enterprises of all sizes.
The collaboration between Motorola Solutions and IPVideo aims to deliver innovative security solutions, focusing on creating safer environments in schools, hospitals, hotels, and businesses. The HALO Smart Sensor, with its advanced detection capabilities, is seen as a valuable addition to Motorola Solutions’ portfolio.
David Antar, President of IPVideo, expressed excitement about joining forces with Motorola Solutions, anticipating the strengthening of innovative solutions for customers. The partnership aims to continue investing in and building upon Motorola Solutions’ leading safety and security ecosystem, providing customers with advanced tools to protect people and enhance operational insights.
