Indonesian broadband provider Link Net has taken a significant step in bolstering its data center capabilities with the launch of a new facility in Surabaya, East Java. This expansion, in partnership with Chinese telecommunications giant ZTE, is part of Link Net’s commitment to enhancing its data center infrastructure in the region.
In a recent announcement, Link Net revealed the successful completion of the upgrade to its data center facilities in Jakarta and the construction of a brand-new data center in Surabaya. Marlo Budiman, President, Director, and CEO of PT Link Net Tbk, expressed the significance of this development in the company’s journey to transform its residential broadband business into Fiber Co. He stated, “The construction of a new data center in Surabaya, as well as the inauguration of Link Net’s new office, is an important moment in the journey of transforming Link Net’s residential broadband business into Fiber Co.”
With the addition of these two data centers in different regions, Link Net aims to enhance the reliability of its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal distribution of internet services and video content to its customers.
Both data centers have received TIA942-A Rate 2+ certification and offer a combined capacity of 300 racks. Director of Engineering and Services at PT ZTE Indonesia, Li Jixin, highlighted the use of a modular concept in the construction of these data centers, which effectively saves costs, processing time, and energy consumption. Li Jixin expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Link Net, emphasizing that it aims to strengthen telecommunications infrastructure and promote digital growth in Indonesia.
Edward Sanusi, Director & Chief Technology Officer of PT Link Net Tbk, emphasized the partnership’s commitment to industry-quality standards. He stated, “Through our partnership with ZTE, we ensure that both data centers meet industry quality standards. Link Net’s data center is ready to provide superior performance with a high level of security and reliability.”
