Fujitsu is set to launch a dedicated company, Fsas Technologies Inc., focused on its hardware business, specifically servers and storage solutions. The move, effective from April 1, 2024, aligns with Fujitsu’s Mid-term Management Plan for 2030, aiming to transform into a technology giant generating positive outcomes for stakeholders. This restructuring signifies a shift in Fujitsu’s business model towards a service-oriented approach, enhancing customer modernization efforts and global business profitability.

The strategic integration of core functions related to hardware into Fsas Technologies is designed to optimize management and resource allocation across business stages, from development and manufacturing to sales and maintenance in Japan. Following the reorganization, Fsas Technologies will leverage Fujitsu’s technological capabilities to provide comprehensive solutions adaptable to specific customer needs, supporting societal and corporate transformation.

Fsas Technologies will consolidate areas like the development, manufacturing, sales, and maintenance of server and storage hardware, covering “PRIMERGY” PC Servers, “PRIMEQUEST” mission-critical IA servers, and “ETERNUS” storage system solutions. Current employees in these areas will transition to Fsas Technologies for seamless business continuity.

Fujitsu’s mainframe and UNIX servers business will remain under Fujitsu Limited, while select network hardware, communications hardware, server hardware (including IPCOM network servers), and the direct sales function of enterprise PCs will integrate into Fsas Technologies. The subsidiary, led by Masuo Yasuda, Representative Director, and President, will operate with approximately 7,500 employees, offering high-quality servers, storage solutions, select network hardware, and enterprise PCs to Japanese customers.

In terms of the product delivery framework, Fsas Technologies will directly sell and maintain hardware solutions for customers, while Fujitsu will focus on system integration (SI), managed services, and necessary infrastructure services for related products.
