Connectria, a global leader in cloud services for IBM Power Systems and an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, has revealed plans to open two new data centers in Singapore. These facilities will offer low-latency connectivity of under 2 milliseconds to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific region (ap-southeast-1), supporting cloud adoption and modernization for IBM i and AIX systems in the region. The aim is to seamlessly integrate public cloud services with traditional IT environments and provide inner region Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) with connectivity to all AWS Availability Zones.
These new data centers in Singapore are designed with a proven architecture to meet the increasing demand for infrastructure modernization and hybrid cloud adoption. Leveraging nearly three decades of experience as a major provider of IBM i and AIX hosting, Connectria’s Asia Pacific data centers feature state-of-the-art IBM Power infrastructure built on the latest IBM hardware with less than 2 milliseconds of latency to AWS.
Troy Mitchell, VP Channel & Alliances, highlighted the strategic importance of this investment in Singapore, emphasizing the demand for a solution similar to those in the United States and Europe. Connectria’s collaboration with AWS has led to the creation of a unique offering that can benefit companies across the entire Asia Pacific region.
Connectria’s seamless integration between IBM Power and AWS aims to help customers accelerate data center exits and pursue cloud-first IT strategies effectively. This approach supports the growing need for modern infrastructure and hybrid cloud solutions for IBM Power. By connecting IBM Power workloads to AWS, organizations can enhance mission-critical applications with native AWS services, enabling advanced capabilities in data analytics, AI/ML, IoT, and more.
To facilitate quick and successful deployments, Connectria offers migration services and IBM Power hybrid cloud resources in an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) model. Additionally, the company provides fully managed services with support for both IBM Power and AWS. For customers in highly regulated industries, such as financial services, Connectria’s data centers and managed services comply with critical frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC 1, 2, and 3, and HITRUST.
Ryan Pelerin, Chief Revenue Officer at Connectria, emphasized the strategic significance of the new data centers in Singapore. He noted that by providing direct AWS connectivity for IBM i and AIX systems, Connectria is not just delivering cloud hosting but offering a pathway to modernization that combines the reliability of IBM Power with the agility of AWS. The data centers utilize the latest IBM Power10 hardware and are strategically equipped to enable businesses to leverage the full benefits of both AWS and IBM Power, supporting scale-out systems and larger enterprise-class Power systems hardware.
