The Asia-Pacific Data Centre Association (APDCA) has recently concluded its elections, announcing Jeremy Deutsch as the newly elected chair of the board. Serving a two-year term, Deutsch, who currently holds the position of President of Asia-Pacific at Equinix, brings a wealth of experience with over two decades in the ICT industry. The elections, held on February 15, 2024, mark a pivotal moment for APDCA as it seeks to represent the collective interests of the data centre industry in the formulation of policies and regulations.
In addition to Jeremy Deutsch’s appointment, APDCA has also elected Serene Nah as the vice-chair for a two-year term. Nah, who currently serves as the Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific at Digital Realty, adds her expertise to the association’s leadership team. The combined leadership of Deutsch and Nah reflects APDCA’s commitment to fostering collaboration and sustainable growth in the data centre sector.
Established earlier this month, APDCA is a collaborative effort involving eight global data centre operators. These operators, including AirTrunk, Digital Realty, Equinix, Global Switch, NTT Global Data Centres, Princeton Digital Group, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), and Vantage Data Centres, represent 40 percent of the APAC market, excluding Mainland China, according to Synergy Research Group. The association aims to play a pivotal role in shaping the future landscape of the data centre industry in the Asia-Pacific region. The focus will be on driving policies that support sustainable growth and address the evolving needs of the industry in the region.
