Google has announced plans to provide 40,000 scholarships for Vietnamese students and has introduced three additional training courses as part of its Google Career Certificates programme to support Vietnam’s digital transformation.
Launched in 2022, the Google Career Certificates programme is a non-profit initiative aimed at enhancing the digital skills and knowledge of the Vietnamese workforce. Sponsored by the National Innovation Centre (NIC), the program offers globally recognized professional certifications in various fields, including IT support, data analytics, project management, digital marketing and e-commerce, and user experience design.
With the addition of three new courses in cybersecurity, advanced data analytics, and business intelligence, the program now offers a total of eight courses. These courses will be available for free until December 31, 2024, and students who complete them will receive professional certifications from Google through the online learning platform Coursera.
The Google Career Certificates programme has made significant progress in reducing the digital skills gap in Vietnam and has provided learning and development opportunities for over 20,000 students. The program has also established partnerships with VietnamWorks and TopCV to create a network of more than 100 recruitment partners.
This initiative is part of Google’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s digital transformation efforts and fostering a digitally skilled workforce to meet the demands of the modern job market.
