TiE Women Global Pitch Competition Celebrates Women Entrepreneurs’ Innovation and Empowerment at TiE Global Summit Singapore

The recently concluded TiE Women Global Pitch Competition, held within the esteemed TiE Global Summit in Singapore, marked a remarkable success in showcasing innovation and empowerment within the entrepreneurial sphere.

The recently concluded TiE Women Global Pitch Competition, held within the esteemed TiE Global Summit in Singapore, marked a remarkable success in showcasing innovation and empowerment within the entrepreneurial sphere. Organized by TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), the competition served as a prominent platform for female entrepreneurs to shine, emphasizing the significance of diversity and inclusion in the entrepreneurial landscape.

The TiE Women program highlighted a diverse array of innovative business ideas and ventures spearheaded by exceptional women entrepreneurs from around the world. This event stood as a testament to the significant strides made by women in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Drawing attention from across the globe, the program received over 1600 applications spanning 62 countries, culminating in 39 finalists competing across various tracks for equity-free prize money of up to $50,000.

The competition featured an impressive lineup of female-led startups presenting groundbreaking concepts across multiple industries, including technology, healthcare, sustainability, among others. Participants showcased exceptional creativity, resilience, and determination, captivating both the audience and the panel of judges with their inspiring pitches.

Asha Jadeja, the founder of the Jadeja Motwani Foundation and platinum sponsor of the TiE Women program, expressed her enthusiasm about the competition, highlighting the impactful opportunities the platform provides for women entrepreneurs from the global south. She emphasized the aim to integrate these outstanding entrepreneurs into Silicon Valley, facilitating access to innovation, entrepreneurship, and disruptive tech breakthroughs, while aiming to energize and catalyze future generations of women entrepreneurs globally.

The competition boasted an esteemed panel of 23 judges spanning various tracks, rigorously evaluating pitches based on innovation, market potential, scalability, and impact, ensuring a comprehensive and insightful selection process.

Askhita Sachdeva, Co-Founder of Trestle Labs and the winner of this year’s competition, shared her gratitude for the transformative experience and exceptional mentorship received through TiE Bangalore and the global network of TiE members. She highlighted the significant impact the win will have on scaling Trestle Labs’ project, #Kibo, and its broader impact.

Shama Rathi from TiE Tampa, the first runner-up, expressed her gratitude for the enriching experience amidst a pool of brilliant ideas, while Wafa Alobaidat, Founder and CEO of Playbook from TiE Dubai – Saudi Arabia, the second runner-up, expressed her honor and excitement for the journey from chapter finals to victory. She commended TiE Global for fostering an inspiring entrepreneurial growth journey and providing invaluable networking opportunities that drive innovation and success.
