The Indian patent office has issued a patent (No. 386151) to Newgen Software for their innovation named ‘Centralized Controlled Printing and Administration.’ In line with the terms of the Patents Act of 1970, this is for a duration of 20 years beginning on January 4, 2010.
This invention is intended to provide centrally managed and automated printing while simultaneously protecting document confidentiality. Aside from the standard way of printing, it also features pull printing, which allows users to print their papers from any point. Furthermore, it has a universal printer driver, which eliminates the need for printer-specific drivers.
The printing system also aids in green printing and collecting carbon credits by recommending cost-cutting and paper-saving options such as black and white printing instead of color, double-sided printing, several sheets per page, and single copy printing. It also includes ROI calculator for evaluating advantages and savings, and also real-time print statistics.
Virender Jeet, CEO, Newgen Software, said, “We are delighted that the Indian patent office has yet again recognized the uniqueness of our technology. This invention will facilitate enterprises with anytime, anywhere, secure printing while enabling integration with existing systems and ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.”
Newgen has filed 44 patents to date, 22 of which have been awarded in India and the United States. The patents obtained by Newgen strengthen its position as a pioneer in developing cutting-edge, industry-specific solutions that are critical in driving digital transformation.
