KT SAT introduces ‘XWAVE,’ a new maritime brand that represents the company’s aim of expanding the worldwide market to South East Asia. The name “XWAVE” incorporates the meanings of “Express” and “Wave,” and was designed in response to KT SAT’s commitment to providing superior marine communication with reliable service quality.
The end-to-end marine connection service with an unlimited high-speed network is known as Maritime VSAT. Many customers have praised Regional MVSAT for its excellent quality and stable connection, which is achieved by utilizing a specialized Ku-band communication network from the KOREASAT fleet. Based on its considerable expertise in the satellite business, KT SAT will continue to extend its market to South East Asia while keeping the top position in the domestic market.
KT SAT has prepared the service quality in order to deliver more reliable and faster connectivity to customers with a thorough grasp of their requirements for adopting smart ships. The launch of the new marine brand also symbolizes KT SAT’s aim to answer customers’ needs for extended service coverage and limitless data communication in the mobility era.
KT SAT was able to increase and strengthen its R-MVSAT coverage due to the debut of its maritime brand. With this expansion of service coverage, KT SAT can now meet 40 percent of the rising demand for maritime data transmission from the Bay of Bengal, Indonesia, and Australia’s West Sea to the Indian Ocean. KT SAT also made a notable advancement in service quality by transitioning from traditional L-band MSS (Mobile Satellite Services) that is a pay-as-you-go service to an unlimited high-speed network (2Mpbs+). Kyung min Song, CEO, KT SAT, said “South East Asia is a new market for KT SAT which has a great potential to grow 27.5 percent annually. We will keep developing incomparable value-added services which could support work efficiency as well as secure operation in vessels using our innovative ICT technology.”
Vessellink and Live TV are two of KT SAT’s most recognizable offerings. Vessellink promotes not just operational efficiency but also intelligent vessel monitoring through automated vessel data analysis. Live TV set to start in July 2021, is also intended to delight crews by offering a variety of cultural content like Korean dramas and K-Pop programs.
