KKR has announced the immediate appointment of Ruchir Swarup as a Partner and Chief Information Officer. In his new role, Mr. Swarup will be tasked with steering KKR’s technology strategy and vision, with a focus on adopting new technologies and enhancing existing ones to improve efficiency and mitigate risks across the organization. Based in New York, he will play a pivotal role in advancing KKR’s technological capabilities.
Bringing extensive experience in investment technology across public and private markets, Mr. Swarup joins KKR from Addepar, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. During his tenure at Addepar, he successfully crafted and implemented a unified Product and Platform strategy, oversaw the global expansion of Research & Development, and identified strategic acquisitions to broaden the company’s product offerings.
Ryan Stork, Chief Operating Officer of KKR, emphasized the crucial role of technology in safeguarding the firm and facilitating scalable operations. He expressed confidence in Mr. Swarup’s ability to build on the existing technological foundation and enhance connectivity across the organization. Stork welcomed Swarup to KKR, anticipating the valuable contributions his expertise and management skills will bring to advancing technology capabilities.

Before his role at Addepar, Mr. Swarup spent close to two decades at BlackRock, where he held various technology leadership positions in the U.S. and Asia. Notably, he served as a Managing Director and Global Head of the Aladdin Product Group, overseeing Business Operations and Enterprise Systems. His responsibilities included developing post-trade capabilities, regulatory compliance, client experience, and enterprise operations technology. As a key architect of BlackRock’s middle- and back-office technology strategy on Aladdin, Mr. Swarup played a vital role in shaping the end-to-end portfolio management system and was a member of BlackRock’s Global Operating Committee.
