Kim Larsen, a seasoned cybersecurity professional with more than twenty years of leadership experience across both public and private sectors, has been appointed as the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Keepit, a leading player in the SaaS data backup and recovery industry. Larsen’s selection, announced on April 16, 2024, is viewed as a strategic move aimed at bolstering Keepit’s security advisory capabilities and advancing the development of future services.
Larsen’s extensive career includes notable roles at organizations such as NATO, the EU, Verizon, Systematic, and various industry security boards. He began his professional journey at the Danish National Police before spending nine years with the Security and Intelligence Service (PET), representing the Danish government in key security committees within NATO and the EU. Larsen’s transition to the private sector saw him contributing as a strategic advisor on government, public, and financial sector issues, while also playing pivotal roles in developing security organizations and partnerships at companies like Verizon, Huawei, and Systematic. Additionally, he served on the information security board of the Danish Industry Confederation (DI) and the Danish Council for Digital Security for a decade.
Keepit’s CEO, Morten Felsvang, expressed enthusiasm about Larsen’s appointment, citing his extensive government and private sector experience as invaluable assets to elevate Keepit’s security advisory capabilities and future service development.
