The eighth edition of the International Workshop on Nanotechnology and Application (IWNA 2023) has commenced in Phan Thiet city, located in the south-central province of Binh Thuan. The event, running from November 9 to 11, has attracted approximately 300 participants from 20 countries.
Co-hosted by the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, the Institute for Nano Technology (INT), the CEA-LETI-MINATEC of France, and the provincial People’s Committee, IWNA 2023 is set to feature presentations on around 200-250 scientific papers covering various aspects of nanotechnology. The topics range from fundamental research to studies on the synthesis of nano materials, manufacturing processes for nano-components, and their applications in both scientific fields and everyday life.
Dr. Doan Duc Chanh Tin, the Director of INT, emphasized that the biennial workshop aims to strengthen collaboration in scientific research among countries, promote research activities in nanotechnology, and explore applications of this technology in daily life and socio-economic development.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Minh, expressed optimism regarding IWNA 2023, hoping that it would serve as a platform to foster research cooperation between domestic and international institutes, universities, scientific experts, businesses, and investors. He also highlighted the province’s commitment to enhancing collaboration in scientific research, human resources training, and the transfer of nanotechnology. This collaboration aims to contribute to sustainable improvements in the quality of local signature products, aligning with environmental protection efforts and supporting the development of startups and innovative initiatives.
The workshop is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange, spark collaborative research efforts, and contribute to advancements in the field of nanotechnology, reinforcing its role in shaping the future of scientific exploration and practical applications.
