F5 Names Samir Sherif as New CISO

F5, the application delivery and security company listed on NASDAQ as FFIV, has recently appointed Samir Sherif as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

F5, the application delivery and security company listed on NASDAQ as FFIV, has recently appointed Samir Sherif as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In his capacity, Sherif will be responsible for steering F5’s enterprise cybersecurity strategy and fostering a security-conscious culture. His duties also include overseeing cybersecurity standards and programs for F5’s range of products and services. Sherif brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously served as CISO at Absolute Software and Imperva, and having spent over two decades at Citigroup, where he ultimately held the position of Global Head of Application Security.

Samir Sherif is stepping into the CISO role at F5, taking over from Gail Coury, who has been leading the company’s enterprise security efforts for the past three years. Coury is set to retire on March 1. This transition marks a significant change in leadership within F5’s cybersecurity division, with Sherif bringing his extensive background and expertise to guide the company’s security initiatives moving forward.
