Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) has announced the appointment of five new board members, effective April 24, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards advancing Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and accelerating the adoption of 5G technology. These appointments follow the share subscription agreements signed between DNB, Ministry of Finance Incorporated, and five mobile network operators (MNOs) on December 1, 2023.
The newly appointed board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise from the telecommunications and technology industry. They include:
Datuk Kamal Khalid from CelcomDigi’s (Infranation Sdn Bhd)
Uthaya Kumar K Vivekananda from Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd
Chang Yit Fei and Tan Kok Leong from U Mobile Sdn Bhd
Nik Azli Abu Zahar and Mohamed Tajul Mohamed Sultan from Telekom Malaysia Bhd
Datuk Seri Yeoh Seok Hong and Datuk Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek from YTL Power International Bhd
These new members, along with the existing incumbents, Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican and Ma Sivanesan Marimuthu, are expected to provide valuable input and direction to DNB. Their collective expertise will play a pivotal role in driving the advancement of Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and spearheading the widespread adoption of 5G technology across various sectors, including industries, enterprises, the public sector, and consumers.
