DEKRA Appoints Carsten Lienemann as New Head in Korea

DEKRA has selected Carsten Lienemann as Head of Korea. He is in charge of all DEKRA Group Korean companies. Lienemann is a German-Spanish economist who studied in both countries.

He went to Korea in 2005 after working at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISST) in IT research, workflow management, and wearable computing. Following that, he joined the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI), where he most recently served as Deputy Secretary General. KGCCI is Korea’s second largest foreign chamber, serving around 500 members in all aspects of Korean business. Lienemann became the Korean CEO of a worldwide German Test, Inspection, and Certification organization in 2012. Having over 20 years of experience in senior management positions and TIC industry, and being business fluent in the Korean language, Lienemann is looking forward to serving DEKRA Korea in its further expansion drive.

DEKRA conducts product safety testing in Korea at its Seoul, Yongin, and Incheon facilities, specializing in automotive EMC, RF, and explosion safety testing. DEKRA is the sole service provider of AVS in Korea and the world’s first laboratory accredited for both device testing and security assessment programs for Alexa Voice Service (AVS).

By purchasing Movon test laboratories in 2020, DEKRA Korea made a major strategic move and extended its testing and certification services, strengthening its position as a global provider in the growing industry of automotive electromagnetic compatibility and radio frequency testing
