Nokia to Advance Singapore’s Changi Airport’s Digital Transformation with Optical LAN
Nokia is deploying its passive optical local area network (POL) solution at Changi Airport, Singapore with solution integrator, Beaqon. The new network will support existing operations and enable new services to advance Changi Airport’s digital transformation.
By deploying Nokia Optical LAN, it will be able to support existing CCTV operations as well as intelligent subsystems. Nokia Optical LAN leverages the bandwidth capabilities of fiber to cover greater distances than copper LAN networks in a smaller footprint.
Axis Bank to Migrate 70% of On-Premise Infra on AWS
Axis Bank has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate its digital transformation program and meet the growing demand for its digital banking services.
“As part of a multi-year agreement, Axis Bank will utilize AWS services, including containers, database, and compute, to build a portfolio of new digital financial services to bring advanced banking experiences to customers, helping the bank increase customer satisfaction by 35 percent and lower costs by 24 percent,” AWS said in a statement.
Axis Bank has deployed over 25 mission-critical applications on AWS, including a Buy Now Pay Later product, Account Aggregator, Video-Know Your Customer, and WhatsApp banking. Axis Bank also plans to migrate 70 percent of its on-premises data centre infrastructure in the next 24 months to further reduce cost, improve agility, and improve customer experience. At present, 15 percent of the bank’s applications are already on the cloud.
