In a bid to strengthen its partnership with Malaysia and contribute to the nation’s economic development, BlackBerry, a prominent Canadian company specializing in software and cybersecurity solutions, has expressed its intent to collaborate. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia’s Prime Minister and Finance Minister, revealed this commitment following a meeting with the Canadian High Commissioner, Wayne Robson, and John Gianmatteo, President and CEO of BlackBerry Cybersecurity, on Monday, October 16.
The discussion also included key figures such as Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and Dr. Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin, CEO of the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA).
Anwar, in a social media post on Monday night, highlighted Gianmatteo’s announcement of BlackBerry’s plans to establish the first BlackBerry Cyber Security Centre of Excellence in the Asia-Pacific region, further underlining the company’s commitment to the collaboration with Malaysia.
