Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, a health-tech start-up, Arvi rolled out a contactless thermal scanning kiosk. A statement suggests that Arvi kiosks leverages AI technology along with deep learning to combine thermal screening and facial recognition to detect the high temperatures in a person as well as people who violate safety measures such as the wearing of a mask.
Face mask detection, temperature check, attendance/access management and auto hand-sanitization are certain features which will be available in the newly launched contactless and unmanned thermal scanning kiosks. Besides temperature check, Arvi’s kiosks will also screen pulse, blood oxygen, and respiration rate.
A temperature gun whereas requires the presence of an individual to record people’s temperature, Arvi’s AI-enabled scanners removes the requirement of a human observation or intervention.
These kiosks have been successfully founded by a team of IIT Bombay engineers and these can be best utilised at the entry points of corporate offices, hospitals, schools, airports, malls, banks etc.
Sushant Reddy, Co-founder and CEO, Arvi reportedly said that Restaurants, Companies, housing societies and manufacturing plants require effective screening solutions, their kiosks make the screening process safer and easier for workstations. With the integration of facial recognition and advanced sensors, they have given their best to leveraging the best of technologies available in the country for fighting against Covid-19.
The price range of these thermal scanners stand between Rs. 60, 000 to 1.25 lacs. The accuracy of these temperature sensor is +/-0.2C. The screening time is 1 second and the operation range stands between 15-42 C. The products have been designed and fabricated in India.
