India Ranks 2nd in Mobile App Install Rate in APAC
Mobile app installs across all verticals in APAC increased by 31 percent YoY in 2020, and are continuing to grow steadily in 2021, up by another 4 percent, according to the APAC Mobile App Trends Report 2021 from Adjust, the mobile marketing analytics platform.
Growing 54 percent YoY, sessions also boomed in 2020 — largely due to the shift to mobile during lockdowns.
Based on Adjust’s top 910 apps from APAC, the report draws data from India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, showing that:
- India and Vietnam came closely behind Japan with 27 percent YoY growth on install rate in 2020, ranking 2nd amongst the APAC countries.
- Japan’s installs grew the most in 2020, climbing 32 percent YoY, just above the regional average of 31 percent.
- Singapore’s sessions have increased by 34 percent this year, compared to the 1 percent growth in 2020.
- Vietnam, the only country that didn’t grow in 2020, decreasing 9 percent, is seeing the inverse in 2021 — with sessions increasing by 12 percent.
