Gen Z Indians want Employers to Value Skills when Hiring: LinkedIn

Over 72 percent students and 65 percent Gen Z Indians were professionally impacted during the second wave of Covid-19, according to the latest study by LinkedIn in collaboration with research firm GfK.

The second wave of Covid-19 has disrupted the education plans of nearly 75 percent students and Gen Z Indians. In fact, 40 percent of those with higher academic aspirations have postponed or cancelled their plans due to safety concerns, financial constraints, and travel restrictions. As upskilling and collaboration have become workforce essentials in today’s challenging professional landscape, every second Gen Z professional (51 percent) wants employers and leaders to make skill-based hires today.

In fact, Gen Z Indians are sharpening their focus on upgrading their skills to improve their self-confidence (47 percent), widen career opportunities (45 percent), and fast-track growth (34 percent) and productivity (32 percent).

Delhivery Raises $100 Million from FedEx Express

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of global logistics solutions provider FedEx Corp, has invested $100 million in logistics and supply chain startup Delhivery.

As part of the collaboration, FedEx will make $100 million equity investment in Delhivery, and the companies will enter into a long-term commercial agreement. FedEx Express will focus on international export and import services to and from India, and Delhivery will, in addition to FedEx, sell FedEx Express international products and services in the India market and provide pick-up and delivery services across India.

Delhivery is targeting a public market listing next year to raise around $650-$800 million.
