TCS Appoints Samir Seksaria as CFO

Tata Consultancy Services has named Samir Seksaria as its Chief Financial Officer. He has replaced V Ramakrishnan who retires from the company this month.

Seksaria started his career in TCS in 1999 and spent his early years in consulting assignments involving regulatory compliance and M&A spin-offs, amongst others. He moved to Corporate Finance in 2004 and played a critical role in the company’s IPO. Prior to being appointed as CFO, he was heading the financial analytics, planning and business finance functions.

Zoho Plans to Replicate Rural Office Model in the US, UK, Japan

India’s largest Software as a Service (SaaS) firm, Zoho Corp, has plans to take its rural-centric development centres model to the US, the UK, Mexico and Japan to serve local customers, as per a recent report from ET. Zoho, which pioneered the pay-as-you-use software model in India, has its main development centre in Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu. It is building similar centres on the outskirts of Patna, and in rural Andhra Pradesh.

Persistent Systems Net Profit Increases 64.3%

Persistent Systems has reported a profit after tax of Rs 137.75 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. The profit is up 64.3% while revenues increased by 20.2% to Rs 1,113.35 crore.

For the full financial year, the Pune headquartered company reported a profit after tax of Rs 340.28 crore, up 32.4% while revenues were up 17.4% at Rs 3565.80 crore.
