At the Singapore Fintech Festival 2023, finance super app GCash showcased robust international services aimed at empowering Filipino travelers and expats abroad. GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon unveiled a novel app feature enabling real-time foreign exchange rates access in countries like Singapore, Japan, and the US.

Through strategic collaborations, GCash has expanded its global footprint. Partnering with Alipay+, it enables cashless transactions in 17 countries for travelers, while also offering sign-ups using international mobile numbers in six countries like the USA and Japan.

Moreover, its alliance with Visa facilitates cashless transactions across 200 countries with over 80 million merchants. GCash users can conveniently order the GCash Card within the app and utilize it for payments at establishments accepting Alipay+, either through QR code scanning or code generation.

Beyond its consumer-focused services, GCash is intensifying efforts in the enterprise sphere, aiming to alleviate pain points in the B2B space and transform nano, micro, small, and medium enterprises (NMSME). Sazon emphasized the importance of addressing B2B challenges for impactful market presence.

In addition to providing digital financial tools, GCash offers partner marketing solutions, catering to diverse businesses leveraging the app’s extensive reach. Sazon’s participation in a panel discussion titled “Building Unicorns: An Asean Success Story” at SFF 2023, alongside industry leaders, highlighted GCash’s evolution into a double unicorn—a testament to its valuation surpassing $2 billion.

The Singapore FinTech Festival, organized by Elevandi and supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, serves as a global platform for industry leaders, drawing 62,000 participants from 134 countries last year. GCash’s advancement into multifaceted financial services beyond money transfer aligns with its ambition to innovate and transform the fintech landscape for Filipinos globally.
